Under the direction of Jon Lee, the Meadows Percussion Ensemble presents Stewart Copeland’s The Gene Pool, featuring guest percussionist/composer and SMU instructor John Bryant, and four pieces from Copeland’s Mikrokosmos for Percussion, including Dance Ants, Bears, Dog Dreams and Tonga Toys. Copeland will be in the audience. Also featured on the program will be Steve Reich’s newest work for percussion, Mallet Quartet, as well as Killing Horizon by Meadows School alum Lane Harder, and a piece by noted hand-drummer Jamal Mohamed.
