Roger Winter and the line, a film by Quin Mathews

A selection from "Roger Winter and the line."

Roger Winter is an artist and teacher, excelling in both without slighting either one. During his 26 years at SMU, he was teacher and mentor to some of the great painters who came out of Dallas: John Alexander, David Bates, Brian Cobble and Lilian Garcia-Roig, among many others.

From his studios in New York and Santa Fe, Roger Winter reflects on his art and that of his protégés. They talk about what makes him special—and to quote John Alexander, "a genius. "
