Meet Spanish architect Luis Vidal and learn about his past and current projects, including Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport, which will open in June 2014. Founded in 2004, Vidal’s firm is one of the largest and most important architectural practices in Spain and has established an international reputation for its large-scale public buildings, with a specific focus on airports and transportation architecture. The new book Luis Vidal + architects: From Process to Results by Clare Melhuish looks at all of the firm’s major projects that have been built or designed to date, with a primary focus on the working process behind the practice, including a look at the role of collaboration with other architects and designers, as well as the crucial role of clients. This beautifully designed book, to be released in late October, includes numerous links and cross-references between projects and design concepts. A copy of the book may be reserved in advance at the Meadows Museum gift shop.
