Mitchell Schnurman, business columnist for the Dallas Morning News, will deliver the Fall O'Neil Lecture in Business Journalism. His topic: How Business Journalism Can Change Your Life. Schnurman has been writing about business since 1986, and joined the News last year. He covered the region’s top business stories, including Ross Perot’s exit from General Motors and the failure of Texas' banking industry. As a columnist, he championed the lifting of the Wright Amendment, challenged Texas' small-government claims and supported natural gas drilling in urban areas. He often weighs in on tax breaks, and he’s been one of the strongest voices for a merger of American Airlines and US Airways. Schnurman is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. Seven times, he’s been named a “Best in Business” columnist by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers. This event is open to all, and requires no reservations.
