On March 5th, the Social Entrepreneurship class within Meadows is going to be hosting the United Way and its Social Innovation Fund Task force at SMU.
There will be small lunch provided with drinks for the attendees. Please RSVP here: http://smuinnovationsummitt.eventbrite.com/
Located in the SMU Forum on the bottom floor of the Hughes-Trigg Center, we are going to be putting on a conversation among the United Way and several of the current projects that they are considering for funding or involvement through the SIF and team.
United Way has recently launched this Social Innovation Fund to support socially innovative initiatives that are in the Dallas community and that help support their main mission of education, health, and poverty.
The Companies that will be presenting include:
Champion Capital with Michelle Corson
Chestnut Farms with Nathan Watkins
Paul Quinn College with President Michael Sorrell
Cafe Momentum with Chad Hauser
Youth Villages with Chris Quadri
Tynesia Boyea Robinson with Reliance Methods
We will also have Dana Brown who is heading up the United Way's Social Innovation Fund.
The United Way will be helping with promotion as well as inviting key members of their board, executive team, staff, volunteers, and other members of the United Way Social Innovation Fund Task Force.
The goal of this event it is to bring awareness to the work of the United Way in Dallas as well as all of the socially innovative activity happening all across our North Texas region. Finally, SMU has a burgeoning community of social innovators or people interested in social innovation and perpetuating social good across our campus and through the world.
