The Meadows Percussion Ensemble will perform works featuring faculty artists and composers. Andrés Díaz, distinguished cello professor, will join the ensemble on the hauntingly beautiful Elegy: Snow in June by Tan Dun. The ensemble will also perform a recently premiered marimba quartet, Africa Hocket, by Meadows alum and new composition faculty member Dr. Lane Harder. Guest artist and Indonesian master musician Ade Suparman will join the group for a performance of his work Genjah featuring Sundanese zither and percussion. Other works on the program include Darius Milhaud’s Second Concerto for Two Pianos and Percussion and the lighthearted, recent piece Radio by Kevin Bobo of Indiana University. The diverse styles, textures, sounds and rhythms make this a concert not to be missed!
