Meadows Wind Ensemble: The Leaves Are Falling

The Meadows Wind Ensemble, led by guest conductor Alan Wagner, will feature five works including Suite of Old American Dances by Robert Russell Bennett; The Leaves Are Falling by Warren Benson, an intense piece widely considered the composer’s best work for wind ensemble; Joan Tower’s Fanfare for the Uncomman Woman (No. 2); Eric Whitacre’s October, a tribute to the quiet beauty of the fall season; and Music for Piano, Percussion and Wind Ensemble by prize-winning Meadows faculty composer Xi Wang.
