Meadows Chorale, Meadows Concert Choir and Diva Dolce: Dazzle the Darkness

“A great ring of pure & endless light
Dazzles the darkness in my heart
And breaks apart the dusky clouds of night.”

So begins the poem “A Ring of Endless Light” by Madeleine L’Engle. The sentiment of the poem – the soul’s search for healing light amidst darkness and sorrow – forms the theme for the first choral concert of the 2012-13 season. Performing in the concert will be the Meadows Concert Choir, the Meadows Chorale, and the newest vocal group in Meadows School of the Arts – Diva Dolce, a select women’s ensemble. The centerpiece of the program will feature members of the superb Meadows Symphony Orchestra as they join the Meadows Chorale to present Igor Stravinsky’s powerfully evocative Requiem Canticles.
