Cézanne Quartet

When:
Saturday, April 1, 2017 - 7:30pm

Join the Cézanne Quartet as they present their final concert as the Peak Fellowship Ensemble-in-Residence at SMU Meadows. Beginning the program is Haydn’s “Sunrise” Quartet, Op. 76, No. 4, an incredible example of tonal painting with the first violin depicting the rising sun over warm pedal tones. Next on the program is Britten’s Quartet No. 1, a piece reminiscent of the colors and sounds used in his well-loved opera Peter Grimes. What better way to end the program and the Cézanne Quartet’s tenure at SMU than Beethoven’s Quartet Op. 131?
